One of my favourite distortions is:

DSDIST stompbox, Gain 42
Bass 12, Mid 2, Treb 9
1x15 Cab
Silencer threshold 20
Flange level 45, amount 10

That gives quite a good grating kind of distortion.

this one is really interesting, i use it live to make the pedal almost a sampler. play a 2 second phrase and then it repeats indefinitely, for as long as you need it to. (i've had it repeat the same thing for 3 hours nonstop. of course its 99/100 decay so you lose a little bit. but i can get some AWESOME industrial sounds going with this. i need to record some.

i basically use this for warbling slow playing. instand feedback if you turn your amp up much. but its not normal feedback. its space alien feedback. thats what this effect was designed for. but be careful, keep the feedback in check or your amp will catch on fire. good stuff though

this is good for more of my experimental stuff. basically creates a wave of fuzz that you can hear coming in the distance then crashes upon you...good background sounds behind a lead guitar.

this is good for arpeggiating, methinks. really lo-fi warbly sound.

keep in mind that on all my effects, on my z-bass onboard eq i cut treble and bass completely and boost mid all the way. you might have to compensate for that.
