Featured Artist #48: Rich "Rock" Priske.
Rich Priske

He had known Matthew Good since high school and when former MGB bass player Geoff Lloyd left the band, Matt asked Rich to join, the only problem was that Rich was a drummer! He has drummed for bands like Bif Naked and The Real Mackenzies but I wont get into that. Rich started Record his first album with MGB in 1999 after playing bass for only a month. It does show on the album, though it is very solid bass playing throughout. (The album is "Beautiful Midnight") On his second recording "The Audio Of Being", Rich's playing improved. A good bass playing track would be "Under The Influence" which strays from his usually root note lines. Though this album caused the breakup up of the band (which later reformed as just Matthew Good) it was a great display which showed change from their usual rock sound. His third release "Avalanche" showed that solid bass lines do the trick all the time. Nothing flashy but all respectable. The music was a far leap from MGB and their rock sound. The next album will be coming out sometime next year and I am anxious to see the bass playing on it. All in all, Rich is a very solid bass player and is one of my personal favorites. There it is. I did the best with the limited information. I suggest you check out Matthew Good or the MGB. Thanks for your time. |

I knew I'd get that!
EDIT: You would only probably know of him if you were Canadian. Matthew Good has enjoyed alot of Canadian succes but very little American succes. Last edited by Mango Kid; 02-05-2004 at 09:19 PM. |

Canada represent, I love the MGB/Matt Good. I heard Indestructible today in the véhicule on the way to the music shop, and it psyched me. |

I've heard of Matthew Good before, and i'm American. But then again I watch a lot of MTV2.
Either way, good job. And I think there's a line for the next FA. Good to see that it has been brought back to life.

Is your avatar made from 3D-Movie Maker? I used to love that program, me and my friends would make the funniest things on there. |

Please don't take offence to this cos I mean none, but why did you feature this artist? I mean from your description he appears to be a severely mediocre bassist and that's the recent work. I thought the featured artists were meant to be inspirations to better ourselves from?
