Solo acoustic stuff...

Ok, I tryed this once before and my file wouldn't work for some reason..I think I have that problem solved now....So, I was hoping that I could get a few listens and comments, of course I'd return the favor.

Please remember, I'm a beginning singer and I recorded this in my living room so its not Great quality..but its not bad either....The beginning starts off kinda low, but it gets louder....So, take a listen...thanks

Listen to "Storyteller"...the other song has no vocals...

It made me think of J. Lennon right off. I thought it was pretty good. I noticed you did an second track of vocals. If you wanted to improve on the song, you might try harmonizing the second voice in places. It would really bring more out of the song. That's the only thing I could see to improve on. Everything else was solid.

yeah, I haven't been singing long....I was a guitar player that just played in bands..but over the past year I've taken up acoustic songwriting but couldn't find anyone to sing...so I finally started trying to learn....So you are right when you say my voice needs work..I agree. But I don't really like effects on vocals much...thanks...

got anything you want me to listen to?

I liked it a lot and your singing was better than some of the other stuff here, but it does need some work. Good song though

You need a hell of a lot of effects to make that voice sound decent.

well, thats your opinion and I appreciate you taking the time to check it out. But, I don't like a lot of effects on vocals so I'll just try to improve the vocals the old fashion way..Practice...

fenwoodv2.1, wouldn't happen to have something you want me to listen to would you?

I do, but you're not worthy. In the words of Prince, "Its alright if I inspire you, but you best make sure your music is **** good."

Look, if you don't like it then great...I don't care. But I've saw 4 posts by you including this one and in all but one you were being an *** hole to everyone... and as far as you inspiring me..I have heard nothing from you at all...besides your constant bashing of peoples work...and thats definitley not worth being inspired over.

ahh, you aren't worth the time it takes to finish typing what I planned to say....So thanks again for listening...

I downloaded both songs.
Impressions was a nice classical sounding piece up until 1:36 when the overbearing guitar came in.
That ruined it. Oh well. You can redoit, right?

Storyteller was (I felt) not as good a song.
It needed one more movement or something. A better chorus.
If I sat & worked on it, I could give you some ideas, but it's your song.
Your vocal sounds like Weird "Al" Yankovick.
Not that that is a bad thing, could be worse!
I LOOK LIKE WEIRD 'AL'!
Don't believe me?
Go to my Soundclick page and judge for yourself! LOL

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/guitarcometmusic.htm

Listen to my Weird "Al" type songs, or listen to my "Pretty Diddy" tune, you'll see, I'm not only a fan of Weird "Al", but I am funny like he is, in a different way.
I also play guitar a bit.

actually, Impressions was recorded over a year ago.... I don't have the session saved anymore and also, I don't remember the whole song..only parts...I could figure it out, but honestly "I don't like this song anymore"...lol

by the way, I listened to your songs, if you didn't notice...I wish I could hear the vocals better on "I can't sing" and on "I don't like this song anymore"....Those also sounded too bassy for my taste...However, "Pretty ditty" is a much better recording i think...I enjoyed it..

Yeah I liked it. catchy tune, I could hear how it might sound with a full band. I like your voice, but think you should use less effects.
Keep it up!

I like Impressions a lot. I think if the second guitar was a little lower volume wise the recording would be a lot better. Storyteller is ok, your voice isnt too bad, needs some work though. Im not sure if you are going for a nasaly voice but that is easy to correct. The guitar is more simplistic which is ok because I think you focussed on the words a bit more than the guitar which is cool.

Where are you located?

Wow!!!

This is the first time i've come into the audio arena and im blown away. M8 you have big time talent...i thought the voice fitted the song on the first one very well and your guitar playing was also very good, better than most signed bands out today.

Well done m8
