i'm assuming its an epiphone les paul special II (i didn't bother to look at the links). to be honest, its one of the worst guitars i've ever played. it costs almost $200, and it plays like a $50 guitar. i like washburn beginner guitars a lot better.

the only thing lp about it is the shape. Just get a worthy guitar that isnt really trying to be something it cant.

I've played the cheaper epiphones (special and lp100) i'll be honest you get what you pay for, they're not that great. They're not bad guitars but spend the extra cash and get something alittle better that will last you. I have an epiphone LP standard and it's just awesome. i think most people who have them will tell you the same. good sound, great feel, and they're very reasonably priced. For the money one of the best guitars you can get. I'd recommend staying away form the special, if you really don't want to spend money but want something good, washburns are good too as eighty d said, they're pretty good. But i'd recommend Godin guitars. Probablly the best guitar company that you don't hear about. www.godinguitars.com My friend has one, i play it all the time. his 300$ godin feels and sounds better than my brothers highway strat. The one thing about godin guitars is there are no mixed reviews, 99% of people who have them love them, check out reviews on them.

my brother's guitar teacher said that he wouldnt even class a special as a les paul.
when we went to a shop the guy working their explained to us how sh1te they are.... and a friend at school has one, and it sucks absolute balls... and it is so light that it makes me wonder if it is made out of cardboard or not. quite frankly i wouldnt touch one. |
